Indigo Moon Scarf
Indigo Moon Scarf
Every now and then I make something that is a little hard to sell. This is one of those times. I think it’s because I spent a lot of time contemplating this piece, stitching it, dyeing the moons and the silk. It was made over the course of at least 6 months (I don’t even remember now). It was made as one sample of what could be done with moons from the moon circle. It’s also a bit of an experiment as most anything I make is. I only “lightly plan” my projects as what I most enjoy is the time spent making them and letting them unfold as I go. It’s the unfolding part that I love the most.
Indigo dyed, moons of various vintage Japanese fabrics, hand stitched onto a homespun woven silk kimono lining fabric. Self lined with original weaver selvedges on the center back.
Of course these sorts of things can’t be priced by calculating time spent but I did come up with a price that I hope satisfies us both.
