Silk Shibori Mermaid Adornment
Silk Shibori Mermaid Adornment
Whether you use this adornment as a necklace, a waist wrap, or as innovative body decor, this piece is fun to both make and to wear!
I originally called this the Mermaid Necklace when I first made and sold them. It reminded me of fancy seaweed and we all know mermaids like beautiful things and swim with seaweed adornments!
It’s not difficult, but takes a little time (can be completed in two 1.5 hour Zoom sessions) and the kit includes everything you need to complete it.
Add beads to further enhance the look or keep it simple- it’s up to you. (It’s a great project to use up collections of mixed beads you have been saving for SOMETHING!)
Each kit includes 6 yards of silk cording and 2 yards of silk shibori ribbon dyed to match or contrast. Use the drop down menu to choose your kit color. Once you have ordered your class and kit , you can add extra kits to your order.
To start with, I won’t have kits separately without the class so that I can accommodate those that sign up for the zoom workshop first. They will be available as a separate item later on.
Zoom Workshop plus Kit- $95
Extra kits-$50
(use the pull down menus to choose your colors)
The workshop will take place over two Saturday mornings (PST 10-11:30 AM) October 15th and 29th via Zoom. (two week break between sessions to work on the piece).
You will receive an email invite to the zoom session two weeks prior to the workshop plus one reminder email the Monday preceding the workshop. Please make sure that the email address you are signing up with does not send these emails to your spam folder. I will ask for a confirming email response once but after that you need to make sure you contact me if you are not receiving the emails.
A recording will be available for two weeks if you miss the class or need to review the process.
Kits will be sent out October 3rd via Priority Mail ($10 inside the US, $54 outside)
MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE PRIORITY MAIL FOR SHIPPING. OTHERWISE, I WILL HAVE TO CONTACT YOU TO ADD ADDITIONAL POSTAGE.
(thank you!)
