Silk Shibori Mermaid Adornment PENWAG Kits
Silk Shibori Mermaid Adornment PENWAG Kits
This materials kit listing is for those attending the Peninsula Wearable Arts Guild August 12 meeting and workshop.. Anyone can sign up to attend but this will be hosted by PenWAG via zoom.
Whether you use this adornment as a necklace, a waist wrap, or as innovative body decor, this piece is fun to both make and to wear!
I originally called this the Mermaid Necklace when I first made and sold them. It reminded me of fancy seaweed and we all know mermaids like beautiful things and swim with seaweed adornments!
It’s not difficult, but takes a little time-about three hours. The extra bead stringing will take a little more.
Add beads to further enhance the look or keep it simple- it’s up to you. (It’s a great project to use up collections of mixed beads you have been saving for SOMETHING!)
Each kit includes 5 yards of silk cording and 2 yards of silk shibori ribbon dyed to match or contrast plus beads to string. Use the drop down menu to choose your kit color.
The workshop will take place August 12 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm PDT via Zoom.
Kits will be sent out around August 1 via Priority Mail.
MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE PRIORITY MAIL FOR SHIPPING. OTHERWISE, I WILL HAVE TO CONTACT YOU TO ADD ADDITIONAL POSTAGE.
(thank you!)
Supplies you will need to have on hand:
Scissors, needle, a thimble if you like to use one, thread, (I use monofilament nylon), or any strong thread you have on hand.
